Former President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will be interrogated on the case of March 1, 2008 events in Yerevan, Sasun Khachatryan, Head of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia, told journalists on August 16,. "I have repeatedly stated that everyone who was involved in the case, will be questioned without exception, including Serzh Sargsyan," Khachatryan said.
At present, as Khachatryan pointed out, it is not known when the third president of Armenia will be questioned. This is in the competence of the investigator, who will be guided by the interests and expediency of the investigation. "This is a special tactic of the investigation and the investigator decides the algorithm of his actions, because the process is not a goal in itself, but aims to obtain certain data on the case, "he explained.
To recall, a month earlier the head of the SIS stated that the SIS in its actions is not constrained by individuals, and within the "March 1" case, all persons who can provide any information about these events will be called for questioning. The circle of witnesses and accused, as he said then, can expand. "The investigation will invite all those who can report any information on the case on March 1. Their personality or social status will not bound the investigation," he said.
