ArmInfo. First Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan appealed to the leadership of the World Bank (WB) for assistance in returning illegally exported capital to the country, Mirzoyan informed about it on his Facebook page.
"It is not a secret that in corrupted societies, the means accumulated through corruption, misappropriation of public sums and other illegal ways are often exported from the country and transferred to other states in order to keep them safely. In order to end this vicious practice and restore the looted public property the World Bank and UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) have established the Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative.
To start the process of identification and return of property looted in the country and exported abroad, I have sent a letter to the leadership of the World Bank to get advice and technical assistance from the Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative, " Ararat Mirzoyan wrote.
