ArmInfo.A concrete agreement may be reached until the end of the year and with the mediation of Switzerland the South Ossetian road operation may resume, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia Ashot Hakobyan stated this in an interview with Radiolur.
As he informed, according to the preliminary agreement and taking into account political discrepancies between Georgia and South Ossetia, the Swiss company SGS should receive cargo from one state and transport it to another. Touching upon the congestion of cars at the Upper Lars checkpoint, the Minister assured that in the current situation there are no political overtones, problems arise because of the traffic capacity of the checkpoint. He said that at present about 600 trucks and 500 cars are waiting at the checkpoint.
