He focused on clarifying the electoral lists, stressing the need to exclude "dead souls" from them. Osipyan also paid special attention to preventing electoral fraud. "And those policemen who in this matter will show negligence or will be noticed in some illegal actions will be punished with all the severity of the law," warned Osipyan.
He also said that it is necessary to prevent the possible influence of local gangland elements on the election process: "We must exclude this, in this regard, the police must act confidently and courageously." Osipyan also spoke about the high-profile cases recently opened, assuring that in the near future there will be new, no less interesting revelations.
To note the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan will be held this autumn. The exact date has not been decided yet , but candidates for the mayor of Yerevan from some political forces are already known: the list of the Civil Contract will be headed by actor Hayk Marutyan, the Tsarukyan bloc - MP Naira Zohrabyan, the Yerkir Tsirani party - Zaruhi Postanjyan, parties of the Republic and Enlightened Armenia - Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan, the list of the Armenian national movement - the deputy from the Tsarukyan bloc Ararat Zurabyan. The intention to participate in the elections was announced by the "Constituent Parliament" and "Sasna Tsrer", which should be transformed into a party, in this case they intend to nominate architect Anahit Tarkhanyan for mayor's post.
