In connection with clusters at the checkpoint, Russian colleagues noted that, compared to 2017, the number of cars and tourists passing through the checkpoint increased by 50%. According to forecasts, this growth will continue in the near future. According to representatives of the Russian side, priority is given to passenger cars, respectively, the transmissibility of trucks is reduced. The Russian side assured that it was also concerned about the incidence of incidents and incidents caused by citizens. In this regard, it was decided to invite all authorized agencies to present in a short space of time steps to increase the transmissibility of the checkpoint, taking into account its uneasy geographical location. They are convinced that some procedures should be modernized, modern technical solutions are needed.
The Lars checkpoint, according to the regulations, should serve a maximum of 170 trucks and 3000 individuals per day. However, as of August 5, actually serviced 500 trucks and 15 thousand citizens.
