Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is on a visit to New York, during a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary Di Carlo stressed the importance of effective cooperation, formed with a structure in different areas. At the same time, the Armenian Minister announced the readiness of the new government of Armenia to expand and deepen the agenda of cooperation with joint steps.
Mnatsakanyan told about the latest domestic political processes in Armenia, as well as the priorities of the new government's program. According to the minister, the new government, based on a broad mandate received from the people, is implementing a comprehensive agenda of reforms aimed at strengthening the rule of law and justice in the country, combating corruption, ensuring equal opportunities in the social and economic spheres.
In the context of the work on holding early elections, Mnatsakanyan stated the importance of interaction with international organizations, including UNDP and UN agencies, on their proper organization.
The Armenian FM presented the approaches and priorities of the Armenian side on an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the results of his meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart in Brussels.
