ArmInfo.President of National Assembly of Armenia Ara Babloyan received Egyptian Ambassador in Armenia Tarek Ibrahim Muhammad Maati, who is terminating his diplomatic mission.
According to the press service of the Armenian parliament, Ara Babloyan wished the diplomat success in his further work, expressing gratitude for the development of the Armenian-Egyptian relations. The Speaker pointed at the historical friendly traditions between the two peoples, stressed the importance of effective cooperation in various fields. Related to the issue of deepening relations between the two countries, the President of the parliament considered an important measure to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation. He expressed gratitude to the House of Representatives of Egypt for the work done to recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide. Speaking about regional problems, Ara Babloyan highly appreciated the balanced position of Egypt on issues that are of crucial importance for Armenia. The President also spoke about the events in Armenia, expressing hope that bilateral relations will be continuous.
Tarek Ibrahim Muhammad Maati, expressing gratitude for the warm words, noted that he is leaving Yerevan with good memories, constantly remaining a friend of Armenia. He expressed the conviction that bilateral centuries-old ties will continue to develop and strengthen. The diplomat stressed that Armenian community of Egypt played a big role in the development of the Armenian-Egyptian relations.
