ArmInfo. France is committed to the detailed implementation of the undertaken commitments, which are based on international documents, including on the issue of sale of weapons to the conflicting parties, French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacote said this at a press conference in Yerevan on July 12, referring to the reports of Azerbaijani media about the lifting of the French embargo on the sale of weapons to Azerbaijan.
According to him, as soon as the embassy learnt about these reports, it contacted Paris to clarify the information. "In this regard, I would like to emphasize that France is committed to the detailed implementation of the commitments undertaken, which are based on international documents, and will continue to refrain from selling any weapons or military equipment to the conflicting parties," Jonathan Lacote stressed.
To recall, a few days ago, Azerbaijani media reported that French military industrial companies started marketing actions to establish cooperation with Azerbaijan: "Official Paris withdrew from French companies a ban on the sale of defense products to Azerbaijan. The military-industrial companies of this country have already started marketing campaign. " They also note that in this regard, the French military- industrial complex will be widely presented at the 3rd Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition ADEX- 2018, which will be held on September 25-27. Later, the French embassy in Armenia denied this information, qualifying the message as disinformation.
