ArmInfo. A criminal case was initiated against the nephew of the former Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan. This was reported by the press service of the Special Investigation Service. According to the source, on the basis of the report of citizen A. Sargsyan, a criminal case was initiated under articlesfull 137 (Threat of murder, causing serious harm to health or destruction of property on a large scale) and 119 (torture) of the Criminal Code.
On July 8, 2018 at the Kotayk police station Avetik Sargsyan informed that on the same day at 11:30 am local time his underage daughter, on the occasion of the "Vardavar" holiday, doused with water the passing car of Karen Gasparyan, brother head of the former Police Chief. The latter got out of the car, caught the girl and tried to force her head into the ditch. In this connection, a conflict arose between Gasparyan and Sargsyan, the girl's father.
Then at 12:30pm Karen Gasparyan's son Sergey, who is an employee of the Armenian police, and who apparently underestimated that the fact that his uncle is no longer the all-powerful head of the Police, called Sargsyan to his dacha as if to a conciliatory conversation, where he and his father demanded from him to kneel and ask for forgiveness, threatening otherwise to kill him and his family. Sargsyan on his knees began to ask forgiveness to take away the threat from his daughter, and the young policeman started beating him.
"He said: I enjoy when people kneel before me, and I also enjoy killing a person. Forced for the sake of the child, I knelt down so that they let me leave. And after that, after I got on my knees, I was hit again. They threatened that they will kill my family, they will blow up the house if I make any step: I was beaten by Karen Gasparyan's son, and Karen Gasparyan himself threatened me, "Sargsyan told in an interview to TV channels.
Residents of Kotayk reported about the incident to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. They say they do not want the family of a former police chief's brother to keep the village in an atmosphere of fear, and are ready to provide law enforcement agencies all assistance.
