ArmInfo. Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, a meeting of the Security Council was held on June 25, the press service of the government reported.
According to the source, during the meeting Nikol Pashinyan noted that after the formation of the new government this is the first meeting of the Security Council. "You know that after April 9 functions of the Council is specified in accordance with the second part of Article 155 of the RA Constitution, the basic directions of defense policy sets the Security Council today's meeting is in this context and sets the task to discuss further action." said the RA Prime Minister.
The meeting discussed the plan for the development of the armed forces and the state program for the development of military equipment, as well as issues relating to improving the effectiveness of combat duty. Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan informed about the introduction of more effective types and methods of organizing active defense in the armed forces.
