ArmInfo. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei during the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan expressed assurance that the relations between the two countries will continue to develop and deepen in a spirit of partnership.
The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry informs, the interlocutors mentioned the jubilee of the relations between the two countries- 25th anniversary of establishment of relations highly assessing the success that has been reached during this time. The sides stressed the necessity of using the whole potential in diplomatic relations and planned the upcoming steps.
Mnatsakanyan expressed gratitude to Makei for organization of informal meeting of foreign ministers of Eastern Partnership countries noting that the cooperation in this format will enhance the established partner relations between Armenia and Belarus both within EEU, CSTO formats and in bilateral format. Touching upon the Karabakh conflict, Mnatsakanyan stressed that the formation of an environment contributing to peace is of exceptional importance from the point of view of the effectiveness of the negotiation process. In this regard, he noted the importance of abstaining from such actions by partner countries, which could create a threat to this environment, promote the arms race in the region, hamper the regular work of the agreed format.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bialteral agenda, exchanged opinions on urgent issues of international and regional agenda.
