ArmInfo.VTB Bank (Armenia) has put into operation a new generation of technologically modernized POS terminals and special auxiliaries that enable customers to pay by card in a non-contact way and without entering a PIN code, which simplifies the payment to the full.
As the press service of the Bank informs, it is possible to make a cashless payment in a moment, by just touching the card to the post-terminal, it is possible in any outlet where the POS terminal of VTB Bank (Armenia) is located from the following list https://www.vtb.am/branches/pos /. Transactions on contactless cards do not require entering a PIN code for transactions up to 10 thousand AMD, which further simplifies the payment process.
"VTB Bank (Armenia) thus created all the necessary conditions for the development of non-cash payments in the country, simplifying the lives of both cardholders and owners of outlets," the Bank reported. In addition, due to the launch from August 2017 of first contactless cards demand of customers increased, and as of today the Bank succeeded to transfer more than 1/3 of its card portfolio to non-contact technology.
In order to improve the quality of servicing of outlets where POS terminals of VTB Bank (Armenia) are located, a new round-the-clock service for consulting owners and employees of outlets on all issues related to servicing both payment cards and post-terminals was launched. This innovation will help the employees of retail outlets to service payment cards with more confidence, as the employees of the Contact Center will provide professional assistance.
According to the 16th issue of the analytical survey "Armenian Banks in the Card Business", prepared by ArmInfo, VTB Bank (Armenia) holds the lead not only by the total number of active cards, but also in the volume of transactions. Thus, as of October 1, 2017, the Bank has almost 334 thousand active cards, in particular 152.8 thousand Visa and 181.2 thousand MasterCard. VTB Bank (Armenia) is the leader in terms of Visa number and MasterCard number. As of October 1, 2017 the Bank had 313 own POS- terminals. Until 2013, VTB Bank (Armenia) issued and serviced only international VISA cards, and since September of that year, becoming a full member of the international payment system MasterCard Worldwide, started issuing and servicing Cirrus / Maestro and MasterCard cards, along with servicing and local ArCa cards. VTB Bank (Armenia) has its own processing.
