ArmInfo. The new authorities of Armenia have repeatedly stated that there are no changes to the foreign policy course of Yerevan. Armen Grigoryan, secretary of the National Security Council, stated during the press conference.
"We continue to pursue a balanced foreign policy that excludes clashes of interests of super-powers in Armenia," Grigoryan said. He stressed that the main goal of the "velvet revolution" in Armenia was domestic policy. "What we put forward was domestic policy, the people gave us a mandate to implement internal reforms," he said, stressing that the priority in the new government's activities is the fight against corruption and protectionism.
Speaking about the Karabakh problem and the latest activity of Azerbaijan, the Secretary of the Security Council stated that the final goal in the Karabakh settlement should be the unification of Artsakh to Armenia. As for the activation of Baku, according to Grigoryan, Azerbaijan has recently made positional changes in its territory. "We made such changes in 2016. Of course, this is not welcomed, there are risks, but the Armenian Defense Ministry is taking steps to minimize these risks," he concluded.
