ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is on a working visit in Brussels, attended the signing ceremony of the agreement on readmission with the Benelux countries.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, Mnatsakanyan during his welcoming speech touched upon the results of the implementation of the agreement on readmission, in particular. stressed: "With the EU and the EU member states, we have begun to implement a number of projects whose purpose create favorable conditions and assist our citizens in full reintegration, taking into account not only the socio-economic side of the process, but also moral aspects. Efforts have also been made to expand the capacity of agencies under the Armenian government to develop their own reintegration policies. Readmission and integration are the basis for mobility, "the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
At the same time, he stressed that the importance of raising awareness, as well as combating illegal migration, is given special importance in Armenia. Mnatsakanyan assured that law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Armenia are ready to continue cooperation with EU member states on all open issues. The Minister also stated that Armenia has developed warm and pragmatic relations with the EU and with the Benelux countries. Mnatsakanyan also noted that the protocol to be signed will become a valuable addition to the existing legal framework and will certainly facilitate the process of optimizing readmission processes.
In the context of migration problems, the RA Foreign Minister reminded that Armenia had accepted about 22 thousand Syrian Armenians and introduced its own experience of their reintegration into society and providing the bases for the resumption of life.
Mnatsakanyan also stressed the importance of the signed document as an additional tool in joint work on migration management.
