ArmInfo. Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, among others, put emphasis on the resumption of unsolved disappeared cases of high-profile killings and corruption crimes at the session of the Board of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.
It was instructed, in particular, to take measures to resume cases under the responsibility of the National Security Service, the Special Investigation Service and the Investigative Committee. The Prosecutor General stressed the need for additional efforts to be made to disclose the case on March 1, 2008.
In order to improve the effectiveness of the investigation, a prosecutor's group was established on the basis of the new law on the Prosecutor's Office to supervise the investigation, and investigative agencies were instructed on operational intelligence.
It was also instructed to resume the case of the murder of the former deputy head of the RA Police, Gevorg Mereyan.
During the meeting, the emphasis was put on increasing the detection of corruption crimes.
