ArmInfo. Former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, as well as a number of former and current high-ranking officials of the Armenian Defense Ministry, were summoned for questioning to the Investigation Department of the State Revenue Committee.
As the press service of SRC reported, they were summoned to the Investigation Department as part of investigative activities conducted in the criminal case of procurement and army abuse in the Ministry of Defense of Armenia in the period from 2014-2017. The department reports that in the course of the investigation measures, sufficient evidence was obtained and the former head of the production and technical department of the department for capital construction and housing provision Grigory Barseghyan is charged with abuse of office, fraud in especially large amounts, taking bribes in a particularly large size, falsification of documents, and the head of the same administration, Ashot Grigoryan, was charged with large scale abuse of power, forgery.
"It was decided to suspend the powers of Ashot Grigoryan, investigating the searches in the offices of high- ranking officials of the Defense Ministry, dozens of people were questioned." The investigation continues," the ministry said.
