ArmInfo.At today's sitting the Armenian parliament by secret ballot voted down Elisaveta Danielyan, candidate for Judge of the Chamber of Criminal Cases of the Court of Cassation, nominated by the General Meeting of Judges for the position of a member of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
Taking into account the constitutional amendments, 3/5 of the deputy corps or a minimum of 63 parliamentarians had to vote for the candidature of the Constitutional Court, while only 36 deputies voted for Elizabeta Danielyan. Even before the start of voting, the fraction of the "Elk" bloc and the "Tsarukyan" faction declared their negative stand to the candidature of E.Danielyan. Thus, Elizabeta Danielyan could failed to become a member of the Constitutional Court of Armenia. On May 4 this year, the National Assembly rejected another candidate - Emil Babayan, who also failed to obtain the required number of votes.
