ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov (Russia), Stefan Visconti (France), Andrew Chaufer (USA) .The meeting was also attended by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, attaching importance to the mission of the OSCE Minsk Group, Mnatsakanyan noted the importance of this visit of the mediators, noting that he allows making the first direct contact after the formation of a new government in Armenia. The Armenian minister confirmed Armenia's approaches and position in the governance process, noting that the republic is committed exclusively to a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
The mediators presented to the Foreign Minister of Armenia their approaches and experience in efforts to resolve the conflict. The interlocutors exchanged thoughts in detail on the resolution of the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, touched on the possibilities of advancing the negotiation process, and in this context, stressing the importance of forming an atmosphere of trust.
Touching upon the murder on the part of Azerbaijan recently on the contact line of the serviceman of the NKR, Mnatsakanyan noted that by such provocations the Azerbaijani side seriously questioned its obligations in the peace process. The parties discussed further steps in the format of mediators.
