ArmInfo. The Armenian government should inform the CSTO about the escalation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on the Nakhijevan section. Head of the NA External Affairs Committee Armen Ashotyan stated this from the rostrum of the parliament.
He also touched upon the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to Armenia scheduled for June 13. According to Ashotyan, during the meetings, the truth should be brought to the attention of the Minsk mediators that, regardless of the internal political processes in Armenia and Artsakh, the Armenian people will fight for the recognition of Artsakh's independence. "During the meetings with the mediators, the new Armenian authorities should also focus on the need to implement the Vienna and St. Petersburg agreements on creating an atmosphere of confidence in the Karabakh conflict zone." Unfortunately, the new leadership of the Armenian foreign ministry recently leaves these agreements in the background. Meanwhile, they should be implemented until the new government has reached more ideal agreements, "Ashotyan said.
He also stressed the importance of further deepening the military-strategic partnership between Armenia and Russia: "I pin great hopes on the upcoming meeting in Moscow of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin."
