ArmInfo. Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan, at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, held a number of meetings with the leadership of the Alliance, as well as with colleagues from other countries.
As RA Defense Ministry press office told ArmInfo, Tonoyan met with Panos Kammenos, the Minister of Defense of Greece, with whom he discussed the issues of the agenda of the Armenian-Greek military cooperation, as well as the prospects for their development. The two sides underscored the high level of the Armenian-Greek defense cooperation, and also reached agreements on the implementation of a number of initiatives in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Tonoyan also took part in a meeting of defense ministers of countries providing forces for the NATO peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, "Strong Assistance."
The Armenian Minister in his speech reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to the implementation of the mission within the framework of the Northern Command.
Then, the head of the Defense Ministry of Armenia held a meeting with the NATO Deputy Secretary- General Rose Gottemoeller. The parties discussed the course of Armenia-NATO cooperation in various formats, as well as further programs.
A separate meeting was also held with the Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service Pedro Serrano, with whom issues of regional security were discussed, and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
