For a short historical period, Kazakhstan made a significant contribution to the development of the principles and values of the UN, the strengthening of peace,  security and development, not only on the vast Eurasian space, but  also on a global scale. On June 1, at the round table "New Challenges  and Threats for Eurasian Integration", at the session Results of the  chairmanship and the current activities of Kazakhstan in the UN  Security Council, Kazakhstan's ambassador to Armenia Timur Urazaev  said.

According to the diplomat, sustainable development, nuclear  disarmament and nonproliferation of WMD, economic integration,  dialogue of civilizations, peacemaking, human rights, combating  transnational challenges and threats are all key areas of global  discourse, where all of Kazakhstan's opinions are heard without  exception. "Kazakhstan strives to prove itself to be a responsible  member of the international community with a well-balanced, balanced  foreign policy, constructive and trustworthy relations with all  countries of the world and key multilateral structures. Therefore,  our membership in the UN Security Council is the logical outcome of  the 27-year implementation of the foreign policy strategy. RK in the  UN Security Council as a nationwide project. At the same time, the ambassador stressed that Kazakhstan, which is a  member of the SCO and the CSTO, striving to bridge East-West bridges  on the basis of an equitable dialogue between all countries and  regional organizations, uses its membership in the Security Council  to build confidence between these entities. "We bring our vision and  experience to the work of the UN Security Council and work openly,  honestly and politically, responsibly, in a balanced and constructive  manner, and Kazakhstan strives to be as active, constructive and  impartial in its participation in resolving the burning issues on the  agenda During the month of January, during the presidency of the  Security Council, we held a series of events relevant to the world  community: a topical briefing by the UN Security Council under the  chairmanship of Mr. lava of our country on the topic "WMD  Nonproliferation: Confidence Building Measures", consultations of the  Central Asian foreign ministers on Afghanistan, the draft Code on the  Achievement of a World Without Terrorism was presented on the UN  Security Council's fields and we proposed real steps to reduce the  level of tension in the world in the context of presidential ideas  outlined in the Manifesto of the World. XXI century "so that the  members of the international community could come to the 100th  anniversary of the UN anniversary with common achievements in the  humanitarian and socio-economic development of mankind. In general,  we outlined seven main priorities: the achievement of a world free of  nuclear weapons and prevention and full elimination of the threat of  a global war by reducing the degree of military confrontation at the  global and regional levels, the formation of a model for a regional  zone of peace, security, cooperation and development in Central Asia,  the fight against international terrorism and violent extremism,  efforts for national reconciliation and restoration of peace in the  African continent, joint measures to prevent wars and conflicts,  protect human rights, implement the goals of sustainable development,  combat climate change, and also efforts to expand cooperation among  all regional organizations of the collective security of Europe and  America, Asia and Africa, "the ambassador of Kazakhstan said.

Urazaev stressed that while leading the Committees on  Afghanistan/Taliban, ISIS/DAIS and Al Qaeda, Somalia/Eritrea,  Kazakhstan is making its contribution to their fruitful work. At the  same time, the diplomat added that Kazakhstan strongly condemns  terrorism in all its forms and strictly fulfills the requirements of  the UN Security Council Resolution, annually presenting the National  report on the work done to the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee. "We  have joined all thirteen international universal conventions on the  fight against terrorism and advocate the collective efforts of the  world community to combat this phenomenon. 

And as an unprecedented contribution to the fight against  international terrorism, Kazakhstan initiated a draft Code of Conduct  on the attainment of a world free from terrorism, which was presented  on January 18 this year at the UN headquarters at a special  high-level event. The main purpose of this document is to create a  broad international coalition of partner countries on  counter-terrorism and to achieve a world free of terrorism by the  year 2045.

Important points of the above project are such principles as the  failure to provide territory for committing terrorist acts,  preventing the destruction of state bases during the conduct of  international companies in third countries, a holistic approach, and  deterring terrorism. We hope that this primary project will soon  receive collective support from the world community and will become  an important document in strengthening international cooperation in  the fight against terrorism," Urazaev concluded.
