ArmInfo. Speaker of the Armenian parliament Ara Babloyan presented the latest political processes in Armenia at the meeting with the co-rapporteur of the PACE Monitoring Committee on Armenia Yulia Lyovochkina.
According to the press service of the Armenian parliament, Babloyan stated that the recent events in the country testify that Armenia is committed to democratic values. "It is important for us to ensure stability and security in the country," he said, and in this context noted that Armenia for a number of years, step by step fulfilled the commitments undertaken to Europe and is committed to further expand and strengthen cooperation.
Levochkina noted the importance of resolving the situation in Armenia peacefully through mutual understanding.
The meeting discussed such issues as the holding of extraordinary parliamentary elections in the country, the protection of human rights.
Speaking about early elections, Babloyan noted that all issues should be accepted through discussions. Speaking about the government programs, the speaker stressed that those projects that will be directed to the development of the country will receive the support of the parliamentary majority.
