ArmInfo. ID Minister Zohrab Mnatsakian met May 24 with the co- rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee on the Affairs of Armenia, Yulia Lyovochkina and Giuseppe Galatti.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports, Mnatsakanyan stressed that the Council of Europe is an important partner of Armenia in the sphere of deepening democracy and building civil society institutions.
The PACE Monitoring Committee co-reporters noted that a number of meetings with executive, legislative and judicial bodies, as well as with representatives of civil society and experts were planned within the framework of the visit to Armenia. During the meeting, the sides touched upon the events in Armenia, reforms aimed at strengthening democracy, as well as issues related to raising the level of protection of human rights. The interlocutors also discussed the activities of the PACE.
The Minister presented co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee the efforts of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this context, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
