ArmInfo. The proposal for amnesty of administrative acts is aimed at reducing the social burden from low-income drivers. Armenian Deputy Minister of Road Police Armen Khachatryan stated during a press conference in Yerevan on May 23.
According to him, the fact that drivers who have such acts have not yet paid fines due to the fact that they simply do not have these funds. "We believe that this step will allow to reduce this load from drivers caught in this desperate situation," the deputy chief noted.
To clarify whether these mitigations could have a negative impact on road safety, Khachatryan noted that they count on the responsibility of drivers. At the same time, he stated that the introduced mitigation will have a minimal impact on traffic safety. At the same time, the deputy head added that the Road Police is not a petrified structure and if negative trends are seen, the department's policy will be revised, and it is possible that the previous tough measures will be returned.
At the same time, he stressed that the changes introduced by the Road Police are divided into two categories: mitigation of administrative offenses recorded by observation cameras and agency employees, and an application for amnestying fines for offenses. To note, Police Armenia, in working order, proposed to the Ministry of Justice of Armenia to act as an intermediary in the government of Armenia to initiate adoption of an amnesty law in the National Assembly, as a result of which the execution of administrative acts will be terminated from 01.01.2012 until December 31, 2017 and fines in the amount of 13.7 billion AMD will be canceled.
