ArmInfo. The Israeli Knesset will once again discuss the issue of recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
According to the website of Jerusalem Online, discussions on this issue, initiated by a member of the Knesset from the Meretz party Tamar Sandberg, will be held in the country's legislative body today, May 23.
These discussions were initiated against the backdrop of the deterioration of relations between Turkey and Israel. The proposal was submitted to the Parliament on May 16. Several Israeli ministers and parliamentarians urged to recognize the Armenian Genocide against the backdrop of insults and critical statements on the part of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It is noteworthy that this step was negatively perceived in society and was regarded as a step that may turn the genocide issue into political games.
