ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a closed meeting with Taron Margaryan, Yerevan Mayor. Despite the addiction of the new prime minister to the public style of work, this meeting was not covered, and there was no official announcement on this score.
As the source told ArmInfo, close to Yerevan Mayor's office, after the meeting with Pashinyan, Margaryan met with the heads of the Yerevan communities. According to the participants of this meeting, Margaryan looked extremely depressed and dejected. It is noteworthy that after this meeting, Nikol Pashinyan stated in an interview with journalists: "When I announce the resignation of the Mayor of Yerevan, Taron Margaryan will follow him." Nevertheless, according to the current legislation, even in the case of Taron Margaryan's resignation, the representative of the Republican Party will become the mayor of Yerevan, since the capital mayor is elected by the Council of Elders, where the RPA has a majority. Probably for this very reason Pashinyan is not in a hurry to address the call for resignation to Margaryan.
