ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan presented the new Secretary of the National Security Council Armen Grigoryan.
According to the press service of the Government, Pashinyan said that the Security Council is the body that determines the main directions of defense policy. "The members of the Security Council should be a think tank that gives impetus to the policy of the defense sector," Pashinyan said. The Head of Government expressed his hope that under the leadership of Armen Grigoryan the Security Council will perform its functions effectively, and will adequately respond to modern demands and tasks, and will offer solutions to the security problems facing our country.
In turn, Armen Grigoryan stated that the process of developing a security policy would be brought to a new level. "Armenia has problems that need to be addressed through political thought, I am confident that the team will be able to carry out its tasks, raise the level of Armenia's security by offering solutions for the problems and challenges facing it," the newly appointed secretary said.
Prime Minister Pashinyan instructed to prepare a meeting of the Security Council to discuss defense policy, the implementation of various items on the agenda. "The security sphere, as well as the normal development of the armed forces, is our priority, and we must do our utmost to ensure the normal development of the Armed Forces, to accurately assess the existing problems and take effective measures." Thus, citizens of Armenia should be sure that the government has tools to ensure the full security of the country, at the moment we have all the necessary means to develop an effective policy in this sphere, "Nikol Pashinyan stressed. According to the Prime Minister, do not be afraid to talk about shortcomings, because the problems will only deepen if they are hidden. "It is important to diagnose existing problems and quickly and effectively solve them, in this respect the role of the Security Council is very great, I wish you success, and also the successful implementation of these functions," concluded Pashinyan.
