ArmInfo. In the negotiation process on Karabakh, despite the absence of representatives of the NKR in it, Stepanakert's position has always been taken into account. On May 16 at a press conference in Yerevan, the head of the Armenian branch of the Institute of the CIS Alexander Markarov said.
According to the political expert, the position of the NKR during negotiations was always represented by mediators from Armenia. In addition, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs also did not lose contact with the representatives of Artsakh. "It is obvious to everyone that the negotiation process is the only possible settlement of the Karabakh issue, but it is also obvious to all that without the consent of one of the parties, namely the Karabakh party, the decision can not be made, therefore, as an intermediary, Armenia always represented the position of Artsakh However, if now, the Armenian side will make every effort to return Artsakh to the negotiating table, Azerbaijan, in its turn, can present the former residents of Karabakh of Azerbaijani nationality as one more party Anyway, Baku, for every action of Armenia, there is always a counteraction and it is obvious that this possible event will not be an exception, "the political expert said.
Markarov also said that it is difficult to predict how the negotiations on Karabakh will develop, given the fact of the change of power in Armenia. According to the expert, the main thing for Yerevan is to convey the views of Artsakh to the parties to the talks, as well as to achieve the independence of the unrecognized republic. "Anyway, I think that we should continue to follow this position.Of course, it is difficult to negotiate with Azerbaijan, whose ultimate point of view is not clear, however, the only way to solve this issue is negotiations in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group," - concluded the political expert.
