ArmInfo. The Independent Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, conducting an investigation against Azerbaijan in the case of corruption scandals, decided to freeze the mandates of four Azerbaijani deputies in PACE, headed by the head of the delegation Samed Seidov.
According to haqqin.az, in addition to Samad Seyidov, the sanctions covered Cesar Florin Preda, Pedro Agramunt and Jordi Hujla. Sanctions prohibit Pedro Agramunt from participating in observation missions and serving as rapporteur for 10 years. A similar ban on Seyidov, Preda and Khujla extends for a period of 2 years. The Committee's decision is not final, and official information is expected to be circulated.
To note, as a result of the investigation of the case, known as the "Azerbaijan Landmath", various corruption schemes involving large international officials were identified, with the aim of lobbying Baku's interests in the international arena.
