ArmInfo. The Armenian Health Ministry intends to postpone the introduction of prescription drugs for a year. This was reported on his Facebook page by the new head of the Armenian Ministry of Health Arsen Torosyan.
As Torosyan noted, the Ministry is discussing the issue of eliminating all identified shortcomings during this period. "If the government approves this initiative, we will turn to all interested parties for proposals and discussions, in the end, to form a system that will avoid inappropriate and incorrect reception of medicines, but at the same time it will not become an obstacle for seeking medical services " Torosyan wrote.
To recall, from March 1 in Armenia came into force the government's decision "On the form of prescriptions, the procedure for issuing prescriptions, dispensing medicines, as well as on the treatment of medicines and medicines." According to the schedule approved by the government, psychotropic medications and antibiotics are dispensed on a prescription from March 1, from July 1 this requirement will affect all injections, and from October 1 - the legislative imperative will come into force in full and spread to the entire prescription list. Earlier in substantiation of the decision in Ministry of Health declared, that many medicines, including antibiotics always concerned prescription preparations to apply which it is necessary only on purpose of the doctor. However, to this day, the requirements were not met in full force.
The initiative of the Ministry of Health was negative in the Armenian society. On March 6, at a Cabinet meeting, former Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, addressing the Deputy Minister of Health, said: "Be careful, there is information that these prescriptions are already written out right before the pharmacy for an additional fee." "Be extremely careful that it does not turn into a props," he urged.
