ArmInfo. Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan issued a statement on the cancellation of the scheduled meeting with Nikol Pashinyan. The statement reads: "Dear compatriots. As you know, tomorrow a meeting was going to take place between me and Nikol Pashian, in order to discuss the current situation and search for solutions.
I inform you that the previously announced meeting will not take place, because Nikol Pashinyan unilaterally put forward new requirements regarding the format, the agenda of coverage. On the part of the latter, a list of participants was proposed from our side, and it was announced that negotiations would be held exclusively around his agenda. This means not negotiations, or dialogue, but only the voice of one's own position, agenda, up to the definition of negotiators on our part.
Having some experience in negotiating, I've never heard of such a format.
Concerned with the current situation, as the head of the executive power having the duty to ensure the normal rhythm of our country, I turn to to the President of the Republic of Armenia to organize a meeting with parliamentary and extra-parliamentary political forces to discuss the current internal political situation and to make possible decisions, even before the parliamentary elections are held. "
Meanwhile, Pashinyan demanded to hold negotiations in the 3 + 3 format from the RPA and the Civil Treaty - from RPA Karen Karapetyan, the speaker of the Parliament Ara Babloyan and the head of the faction Vahram Baghdasaryan. He also demanded that the talks be open to the media. But in connection with the current situation Pashinyan urged everyone to gather again at 11:00 in Republic Square and start protest actions of disobedience.
