ArmInfo. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a message to the Armenian Patriarchate in Istanbul.
"We share the pain that fellow ethnic Armenian citizens have experienced, the Turkish people feel obliged to be compassionate to the sufferings of their fellow citizens in accordance with their moral standards, and I beg you, as in the past, and today, not to succumb to provocations of those who, distorting our common history, tries to extract hatred and enmity from it," the message of the Turkish President says.
To note, Turkey still denies the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. Moreover, Ankara rather painfully reacts to the recognition by other states of the Armenian Genocide.
