ArmInfo.US Ambassador Richard Mills today, on April 24, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. "Today I am here on behalf of the people of America to pay tribute to those who died during one of the worst atrocities of the 20th century. The government and people of the United States do not forget about those half a million Armenians who were victims of pogroms in the Ottoman Empire, said the US ambassador.
According to the diplomat, the people of the United States remember those who helped the victims, contributed to the creation of the future of Armenia. "I want to mention those Armenians who found shelter in the United States and made their huge contribution," he stressed.
Richard Mills noted that they are striving and making efforts to "honestly and correctly assess the events." "It is in this direction that the US efforts are being made, and only this can help - an honest assessment can lead to the reconciliation of all parties," the ambassador said.
