Thus, according to the statement of the co-rapporteurs Giuseppe Galati and Yulia Levochkina, they welcome the bold decision of the Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan to leave the office and defuse tension in the country.
At the same time, they expressed hope that the country will have a constructive dialogue between all political forces in finding a long-term solution to the current situation, in accordance with the country's Constitution.
The co-rapporteurs also called for the release of all detainees arrested during the peaceful rally and to respect the right of citizens on peaceful assemblies.
At the same time, they expressed concern about the reports of the Ombudsman of Armenia about the increased hatred and even incitement to violence against individuals in social networks and called for respect for the fundamental rights of all citizens.
It should be noted that on April 23, in the afternoon, newly elected Prime Minister of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan resigned. He was compelled to do this under unceasing protests of many thousands throughout the republic. The leader of the "Make a step" movement, MP Nikol Pashinyan said at a rally on the Republic Square on April 23 that there will be no vendetta or persecution of individuals.
