ArmInfo.The country is in a crisis and a turning point. The head of Heritage party Raffi Hovhannisian stated in a conversation with journalists on April 22, commenting on  the current situation in the country.

Hovhannisian stated that he is proud of the young participants of the  action and is delighted with their dedication. "I am also  participating in this protest. This is a struggle for the future of  Armenia. There are no other perspectives other than the resignation  of Serzh Sargsyan. The protest actions are extremely democratic and  peaceful. I want to note that Serzh Sargsyan has no reason to lead  Armenia, he is not the power of our country. Our power is our people.  The time has come when the fourth President of Armenia Armen  Sarkissian and the Catholicos of All Armenians should advise the  Prime Minister that it is impossible to rule the country by  suppressing the will of citizens. To develop our country, new  democratic elections are needed. Most importantly, the freedom of our  deputies and all those who were subjected to the drive should be  released. It is necessary that Serzh Sargsyan resign. This movement  has been going on for years and has reached its peak today. The whole  world follows the events in Armenia. We will win when all parties and  people of our country, as one will gather in the Republic Square. I  hope that this year April 24 will be not only a day of sorrow for our  lost homeland, but also a day when we will celebrate the victory of  the citizens of Armenia," he concluded.

He told that he wrote a letter to the leadership of the European  People's Party that such a structure as the Republican Party of  Armenia cannot be in the ranks of the EPP.
