ArmInfo. In recent days, many Armenian citizens in the streets and squares have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Armenian authorities. Such protests are characteristic of democratic states. This is stated in the statement of the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Ara Babloyan.
In particular, the statement reads: "I followed the protest actions, processions and rhetoric closely between the organizers and law enforcement agencies. Unfortunately, in some cases human rights were violated. Various international organizations, representatives of the diaspora, civil society, numerous political forces, as well as authorities repeatedly called for negotiations, discussion, preservation of the situation and avoidance of escalation. The President personally visited the area of the Republic and urged MP Nikol Pashinyan to a dialogue. After that, the meeting of RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan and RA NA Deputy Nikol Pashinyan took place. Unfortunately, it became clear at the meeting that Pashinyan is not ready for dialogue. In this case, if the organizers of protest actions are not ready for dialogue, choosing tactics "all or nothing," they should be ready to take responsibility for the further development of events. I urge the public to show rationality, restraint and take into account the rights of every citizen. I am sure that in the Republic of Armenia there are all political and legal instruments for a reasonable settlement of this issue. I call our citizens and all political forces to restraint and tolerance. I believe in the wisdom of our people. >
