ArmInfo.The police beat the producer of the Azatutyun TV program, Anatoly Yeghiazaryan,at Garegin Nzhdeh square in Yerevan.
As reported by "Azatutyun" (the Armenian representation of "Radio Liberty"), the incident occurred when Yeghiazaryan on his returning home tried to take to the phone, as about fifty policemen dispersed a demonstration of motorists blocking the square. Noticing that their actions are being removed, six or seven policemen attacked Yeghiazaryan. It is noted that the employee carried an identification of "Radio Azatutyun", showed it, and several times warned that he is a journalist and represents "Radio Azatutyun". "Not paying attention to all this, the police threw him on the ground and began to beat with his feet and fists, in particular, in the back and abdomen.
The police left him lying on the ground only after passers-by interfered, "the statement reads." On the eve of the attack, a journalist from the same editorial office of Radio Azatutyun, Arus Hakobyan, who carried out her professional activities in the Armenian city of Artashat, civilian clothes, attacking Hakobyan, inflicted bodily harm on her.
