ArmInfo. Washington highly appreciates the peaceful nature of the protests in Armenia. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan statedt, according to the Armenian service of the Voice of America radio, which holds meetings at the US State Department.
According to V. Gabrielyan, prospects for bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as the political situation in Armenia, are discussed in the US in constructive dialogue with American partners. During the meetings at the US State Department, the parties stressed the need for the peaceful nature of the protests, indicating that in no case should there be a restriction of rights, as well as the use of force. Gabrielyan stressed that the State Department believes that the government and, in particular, the Armenian Police approach these issues very professionally.
As Gabrielian pointed out, the interlocutors highly appreciated, in particular, the government's restrained reaction to the rallies and marches taking place in the country. "Simultaneously, there is the following perception: if there is a violation of the rights of others, blocking of streets, entrances, it is fraught with consequences in terms of legislative violations," Vache Gabrielyan said.
