ArmInfo. As of 17:00, on April 19, David Petrosyan, a participant in the protest movement, and his lawyer Araks Melkonyan were attacked by 15-20 unknown persons in the courtyard of the Surb Grigor Lusavorich hospital.
According to the NGO "Protection of Rights without Borders," Petrosyan received various injuries, being restricted by doctors to leave the hospital and ordered him to receive first aid, and the lawyer was injured.
On the basis of the received signal on April 19 at 19:00 the police of the Nor-Nork site came to the hospital. At first, the police refused to register the criminal incident in the way they were presented by the victims. As a result, the victims made their own written notification and presented them to law enforcement officers. Investigator Yegoyan and Narek Barseghyan, together with the victims and their lawyers, applied to the service responsible for video tracking at the medical facility, but they refused to provide any record, noting that they should apply to the authorities, whose name and any information about him not named. Police officers left the hospital without any explanation.
On April 19, David Petrosyan's lawyer appealed to the police to ensure physical security and the application of appropriate measures, which was not ensured, the organization said in an official statement.
In this regard, the NGO "Protection of Rights without Borders" appeals to the Ombudsman to ensure the protection of David Petrosyan's rights and his lawyer. At the same time, the organization demands from the Armenian authorities to stop and refrain from illegal actions against the participants of peaceful assemblies and immediately begin an investigation into the facts of violation of their rights, in particular, from the Prosecutor's Office and the Police.
Recall that from April 16 to 19, David Petrosyan was twice subjected to the drive, staying at the police station about 9 hours in total.
