ArmInfo. The Armenian police reserve the right to take commensurate actions at any time necessary, up to the use of special means to disperse illegal rallies. At the same time, all responsibility for this step will be borne by the organizers of these rallies. This is stated in the statement of the Police of Armenia sent to ArmInfo.
According to the source, for a long time, the RA Police in accordance with the letter and spirit of the RA law "On Freedom of Meetings" showed tolerance towards the organizers and participants of illegal rallies and processions in the capital. Nevertheless, ignoring the decision taken by the Armenian Police on April 16 to stop the rallies in the center of Yerevan, as well as the numerous calls made in the following days, their organizers continue to aggravate the situation with their statements and actions. They provoke participants to various illegal steps aimed at inciting acts between rally participants and police officers. The calls and decisions on the implementation of "unexpected" actions from their side have already led to numerous unrest, severely restricted the rights and freedoms of others, hampered the natural activities of state structures and organizations, endangering the life and health of citizens and public security, leading to disproportionate restrictions on the basic rights and public interest of citizens. "Everyone understands the veiled appeals or steps of the organizers, and in some cases, their underground activities, and this primitive tactic does not relieve the organizers of responsibility," the statement said.
Law enforcers called on citizens who advocate peaceful rallies, not to succumb to provocations, refrain from unlawful actions, and those whose imperfect children participate in illegal actions, take measures to return them to their families in order to avoid undesirable consequences. "Journalists once again call on, for security reasons, to carry out their professional activities at a reasonable distance from the venue of the rallies," the statement said.
