ArmInfo. "The launch of a democratic, velvet revolution is being declared in Armenia," MP Nikol Pashinyan, the organizer of mass protests in Yerevan, said.
According to the oppositionist, the spirit of the revolution is in the air. However, for the accomplishment of the revolution, Pashinyan believes, it is necessary to carry out a "network fight" - to block the normal work of state institutions, including by holding sit-ins in state buildings.
Nick Pashinyan has already announced the preliminary route - will move along Abovyan Street towards the Republic Square, where the building of the Government of Armenia is located. Meanwhile, at the moment, in the National Assembly of Armenia, despite the early threats of demonstrators to block all approaches to the parliament building and to prevent voting, the RA NA Special Session is held, during which the elections of the Prime Minister will take place. "91 deputies were registered, the quorum is guaranteed," the chairman of the Armenian parliament Ara Babloyan stated, opening the meeting of the legislative body.
The only candidate for the post of prime minister is ex-President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. The Head of Government will be elected by open vote, by a majority of votes of the total number of deputies. In case of election, the president of the country immediately appoints the candidate elected by the National Assembly, prime minister. After this appointment, the Government is formed within 15 days.
