ArmInfo. The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case in connection with the riots in Yerevan.
As the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office informs, starting from April 13, 2018, the deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan organized and held rallies during which the requirements of the RA law "On Freedom of Assembly" were violated - impeding the exercise of the citizens' right to free movement and other rights of citizens, normal activities of organizations.
Against the calls of the RA Police, as the source notes, on April 13, the protesters broke into the building of the YSU, on April 14, to the Public Radio building, the actions were accompanied by property damage, bodily harm to citizens who serve in buildings, while endangering public safety. "In the morning of April 16, continuing the illegal activities, the protesters organizedly moved to Baghramyan Avenue, and despite the legitimate demand of the police, they tried to break the police cordon.The protesters, using public and private property on Baghramyan Street, violated police officers" , the ministry said in a statement. In connection with the above facts, a criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of Art. 225 (Mass disorders), Part 1 of Art. 225.1. The preliminary investigation was entrusted to the Special Investigation Service.
