ArmInfo. The last meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was held without incident, and the Armenian delegation cooperated with its colleagues in a normal working environment. This was stated by the deputy from the "Elk" bloc, a member of the Armenian delegation to the PABSEC Gevrog Gorgisyan at a press conference on April 11.
Gorgisyan noted that the incident in Kiev, when the Armenian delegation was not invited to the special meeting of the PABSEC General Assembly and the decisions were made without it, was unprecedented, while noting that this behavior was directed not against Armenia, but against Russia. "After the incident in Kiev, we sent a written appeal to representatives of all delegations asking them to condemn such situations, and we are sure that there will not be such unpleasant incidents in the future," the deputy said.
However, this time, according to the deputy, the meeting passed without incident. Several proposals of the Armenian delegation related to the PABSEC regulations were accepted, the member of the Armenian delegation Vahe Enfiadjian was elected the deputy chairman of the economic commission of the PABSEC.
Gorgisyan noted that at the last meeting of the PABSEC the issues on the development of high technologies and their role in the economic and political life of the countries were discussed. "We presented the situation related to high technologies and their use in Armenia, and we presented the situation and prospects of our country during the speeches, in particular, we noted that the business sphere is actively developing in Armenia, while stressing that Armenia is open for cooperation, "the MP stressed. In conclusion, Gorgisyan added that the members of the Armenian delegation drew conclusions from the unpleasant incident in Kiev and will continue to be ready for such situations. It should be noted that on November 29 at the 50th General Assembly of the PABSEC a meeting was held at the initiative of the Ukrainian delegation, to which the representatives of Armenia were not deliberately invited. In response to this behavior, Armenian MPs issued a statement in which they described the incident as an insult not only against the Armenian delegation, but also the whole organization. As a sign of protest, the Armenian delegation left the meeting room. "Later it became clear that as a result of the discussion a change was made in the text of the declaration concerning the conflicts existing in the region, which completely contradicts the principles of international law - the non-use of force, territorial integrity and self-determination of peoples," the statement said. The Armenian delegation urged the remaining delegations "not to succumb to provocations, not to serve the political interests of some countries, to condemn such behavior and return to the field of constructive cooperation, which is based on the essence and traditions of the PABSEC."
