ArmInfo. The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is one of the priorities of Russia's efforts in the post-Soviet space. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that, together with the United States and France, Russia is a member of the "troika" of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. "In this capacity, we are undertaking as a collective effort with the other two co-chairs, and we are striving in the direction of the common line of the co-chairs, the decisions that have been taken on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, to put forward our own initiatives, taking into account our special ties with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
At the same time, the Russian minister expressed the conviction that nothing gained from those years was lost. According to him, of course, during this time there were some new ideas that the co-chairs are now promoting in their contacts with the parties. "The most important thing is to move away from mistrust, which still sometimes appears in the course of the talks, and concentrate on realistic, pragmatic ideas that are available." We only need to put them on paper, although the parties agree conceptually that this is necessary, but when everything starts to take shape in concrete formulations, as it happens in other situations, there are difficulties, I think that we will continue to overcome them consistently and achieve results, " Lavrov said.
