ArmInfo. Following the results of the Yerevan meeting of the Political Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, a statement was adopted, which also contains important accents on the Karabakh problem.
The document reads: "We are members of the political committee of the PFA, while remaining committed to the values of the organization of Francophonie, being concerned with the numerous challenges in the space of the organization and interested in establishing global peace and stability, we express our concern over the situation in the zone Karabakh conflict and call upon the parties to take measures to settle the conflict peacefully. "
The authors of the statement also call for creating a favorable atmosphere for the further advancement of the peace negotiations, refraining from any steps and statements aimed at escalating the situation in the conflict zone. The participants of the meeting confirmed their support for the peaceful efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and urged the parties to refrain from using force. The authors of the statement also stressed that the conflict should be settled under the aegis of the OSCE Minsk Group on the basis of the three Helsinki principles - non-use of force, the right of the people to self-determination and the territorial integrity of states. "Only this will ensure an objective and lasting solution to the conflict," the authors of the statement summarized.
