ArmInfo. The Chairman of the National Assembly Ara Babloyan received the members of the Korea-Armenia friendship group headed by Yun Ho Zhong and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to Armenia Yoon Keon.
According to the press service of the Parliament, Babloyan congratulated the Ambassador and wished him fruitful work - in the interests of deepening the relations between the two peoples.
The speaker stressed the importance of steps to develop inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries. Turning to the important issues for the Armenian-Korean agenda, the Speaker of the Parliament noted that he closely follows the events on the Korean peninsula, geopolitical developments and is aware that the Republic of Korea spares no effort to preserve peace in the region. In this context, the Chairman of the National Assembly thanked Korea for the balanced position on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, stating that there is no alternative to peace for Armenia.
Ambassador Yoon Keon presented his intentions on the planned programs for further cooperation. The newly appointed ambassador stressed the importance of developing interparliamentary cooperation and expressed readiness to contribute to deepening the Armenian-Korean friendship and interstate relations. The head of the friendship group of Korea-Armenia, Yun Ho Zhong, noted that the Korean parliament is aware of the importance of cooperation with the National Assembly of Armenia. According to him, the Armenian-Korean relations have significantly expanded in recent years and it is obvious that both peoples unite the desire to preserve peace in their countries and regions. Yong Ho Zhong, thanking Babloyan for his warm attitude towards Korea, expressed the hope that the most important problems for Korea and Armenia will be resolved peacefully.
