ArmInfo. In 2018-2019 years the cost of a screening program for the early detection of phenylketonuria in newborns in Artsakh is assumed by the Yerevan Medical Center "Arabkir". This is stated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed on March 17 in Stepanakert by the Ministers of Health of Armenia and Artsakh Levon Altunyan and Karine Atayan.
According to the Ministry of Healthcare of Armenia, since 2020, these expenses will be reimbursed from the budget of the Ministry of Health of Artsakh. "Last year, a similar Memorandum was signed on the screening of newborns for the early detection of congenital hypothyroidism," the Armenian Ministry of Health recalled.
Levon Altunyan presented the doctors the reforms implemented in Armenia's healthcare program. The Minister also touched upon the issue of introducing e-health in Armenia. He stressed that e-health in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as all over the world, will promote the development of the sphere, providing quality services, accessibility and efficiency.
