ArmInfo. 36 US congressmen joined the initiative of the co- chairman of the Armenia-US friendship group, congressman Frank Pallon, on providing Armenia and Artsakh with financial assistance in the amount of 70 million in 2019 fiscal year.
This was reported by the National Committee of Armenia (ANCA)."We would like to once again express our gratitude to Congressman Pallon and all those who joined this initiative.The priorities set forth in this letter are an investment in peace, prosperity and long-term stability," said ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian.
Earlier, the Armenian National Committee of America sent an open letter of request to the Senate Committee on drafting a draft law on foreign aid for the country in 2019 fiscal year, which refers to the need to allocate 70 million dollars to Armenia and Artsakh. "Financial assistance is needed for the demining and rehabilitation of Artsakh, the mplementation of Royce-Engel's proposal to place shooting locators along the contact line, expand economic and military ties between the US and Armenia and support the country as a regional refuge for refugees from the Middle East," ANCA reported.
