ArmInfo. The results of the work of the Military Insurance Fund were summed up at a meeting under the leadership of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
As the presidential press service reports, Sargsyan stressed the importance of the most transparent work of the Foundation and its accountability to the society. The report on the work done was presented by the Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan, thanking the head of state for supporting the idea of creating the Foundation.
Director of the Insurance Fund for Military Servicemen, Head of the Legal Department of the Central Bank of Armenia Varuzhan Avetikyan presented a report on managing the collected funds, stressing that all data were published on the Fund's official website in order to ensure maximum transparency. At the same time, he noted that Artsakh also joined this initiative this year.
President Sargsyan described the work of the Fund as a good example of effective cooperation between the state, private and public sectors, stressing that the insurance of servicemen is directly related to security issues. He expressed the hope that the Fund's resources will increase from year to year, noting that similar trends are already observed.
Sargsyan also expressed his hope that in the foreseeable future, the problems of the families of soldiers and officers who were killed earlier will also be solved. <Excellent work was done, of course, there will be people who try to underestimate or criticize. We undoubtedly need to take into account public opinion, but public opinion must be distinguished from the opinion of a small group of people who, like at all times, are more active and aggressive, "the president said, adding that the main task is to differentiate the opinion of the whole society from opinions of a group of people.
According to the President, on this particular issue, the Armenian public is of the same opinion. "The defenders of the Fatherland must receive social support, there is no other way out." If the state had large means, although this time will come, we would not bother our citizens, but I repeat: this is a very important work: if state employees at the expense of their time, representatives the private sector in the face of banks, as well as the public sector are happy to participate in this, it means this is a just cause, which should be an example for others. "I am grateful to you for the work done," Sargsyan summed up. Note that since 2017 all working citizens of Armenia are obliged to pay monthly 1,000 AMD to the Military Insurance Fund. The fund will be used to address the social and health problems of servicemen and their families.
