ArmInfo. A visiting session of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology began in Yerevan. Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Edward Sharmazanov highly assessed the role of the IPA CIS in regional processes.
Speaking about the significant events in the activities of the IPA CIS over the past quarter century, he first of all highlighted the role and contribution of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in the preparation and consolidation of the Bishkek protocol in May 1994, followed by the signing of the trilateral unlimited ceasefire agreement between the Republic of Armenia , The Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan Republics.
"Distinguished colleagues, unfortunately, today Azerbaijan ignores the trilateral truce signed by them, a clear example of which is the aggression of Azerbaijan against the freedom-loving people of Nagorno- Karabakh in April 2016, which claimed hundreds of lives among the civilian population," Sharmazanov said, Sooner or later the Republic of Artsakh will become a full member of the IPA CIS organization and other international structures, contributing to their strengthening and development.
